Is the current education system failing or prevailing?
First, I can not put the blame completely on just the educational system, it’s here to serve its purpose as being the foundation for a more productive employee. The problem I see, or what may be missing, is it has failed to evolve. This may be by design, or it may be the result of the limited scope in which the system was designed.
In 1903 the General Education Board was created with the help of a $1,000,000 contribution from a member of one of the richest banking families in the world. John D Rockefeller Sr and a few other educators and bankers sought the opportunity to improve the education of the poor southern white and black farmers. This is where the power of narrating your own story comes to the light. What could be presented as a humanitarian act was actually a strategic play on gaining control of the masses and securing their financial dominance.
To understand their intentions you would have to look no further than their philosophy. As stated in "The Country School of To-morrow", published by Frederick T Gates. "In our dream, we have limitless resources and the people yield themselves with perfect docility to our molding hands". Before moving any further I would like for you to understand that extending a helping hand to educate those that are eager and willing to learn, would be an act of generosity. I have learned to look no further than the foundation of any point of view, and for a banker his will always be cash-driven.
To further support my perception of their intentions, it was stated in the book that " We shall not try to make these people or any of their children into philosophers or men of learning, or men of science. We have not to raise up from among them authors, editors, poets, or men of letters. We shall not search for embryo great artists, painters, musicians nor lawyers, doctors, preachers, politicians, statesmen, of whom we have an ample supply".
For me, the answer to the question of this blog, "Is the Educational System failing?", is definitively a No! America was built by businessmen, as a functioning corporation whose strategy was to educate its citizens on how to become a more productive and obedient employee. There is no more to that story to be told, besides how successful it became. Their success has become the root of all the misery that has overrun our society as we are desperately searching for meaning in life.
We must stop waiting for change when change is waiting for us.
